FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology, we call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate "Sport for the Mind". High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”

Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense time limits, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get.

WHAT IS FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION?

FIRST Robotics Competition or FRC teams (20+ members, grades 9-12) are challenged during the season and have six weeks to design, build and program an industrial sized robot to compete in this year's game. Teams are also challenged to design a brand for the team. This brand is a way for teams to make their mark on the world of technology. FRC is a great way for teams to hone in on skills like teamwork, sharing ideas, finding talents, and participate in the hardest fun you'll ever have.
